This little penthouse-like hotel with only 19 rooms is located in the heart of Munich´s old center, right opposite the townhouse. Some rooms face the Marienplatz and offer unique views overlooking the busy main square. From your bed you can see the world famous Glockenspiel, or the Frauenkirche, Munich´s highest building in the middle of the city. People run around like ants below you, doing their shopping or watching the spectacular gothic townhouse. The very well designed rooms are welcoming and wonderfully arranged with a great taste for materials and colors. The bathtub at # 2 is situated in the middle of the room, so you´re able to enjoy a hot tub with a view. The same, or even better, is offered from the bed. What a spot to sleep, even for a Munich local this is an outstanding experience that really shows you your own city from a totally new perspective. The common places in this very personal hotel are very inviting, enjoy a drink or some of the tasty bites offered for free to every guest. It is a great concept to make you feel like home immediately, just go to the fridge and serve yourself or ask the friendly staff. Even the chef may prepare your favorite dish if the ingredients are available at the Viktualienmarkt next door. Another fantastic view is the one facing the other direction, towards the Alter Peter, a nice church and its alley leading to the market. Here you can experience beautiful sunrises and sometimes a terrace asks you to sit down for a breakfast in the sun.
Tip: Go for a walk to the Hofgarten, there you´ll find a small pavilion in the middle of the park where they often set up a little private tango dancing spot or play classical music in an magical environment. From here it´s easy to continue a scenic walk to the English Garden, one of the largest city parks in the world with many great spots to visit like the Monopteros, the Chinese Tower, or the famous river surfers.
