A place where the hotel director welcomes every single guest and serves you water during dinner! And probably this has been the tradition since 1908, when the history of this family-run hotel started. The different epochs come together in a very natural way and everything seems very authentic. The Waldhaus is located in the forest, but you overlook a stunning landscape through the tops of the larches, the Engadine, with lake Silsersee in front of you, surrounded by 3500 m high mountains. Travel back in time - for instance during dinner, when a classic trio plays live music to underlie the ambience around you. This sounds a bit dusty and oldfashioned, but here you only feel that it is beautiful to be able to travel back in time as long as its real. The owners never stopped improving the house for the guests, nevertheless without changing the environment and history of such a rare Mountain Grand Hotel in the Alps. It´s a place where you have time, travel back in time and forget time, it could even be a setting of a Wes Anderson movie! Simply love it!
Tip: In the summer you should walk to a little peninsular close by, it is only about 10 min. away and so much worth it. Here you can find your own path to the fresh clear lake water and enjoy a scenic swim.
